Are you a highly motivated team worker committed to support people with Learning Disabilities and/or Autism? HAIL is looking for candidates to join the team as a Support Worker based in Haringey to work within our Supported living or Housing related support services. You will join us on a full time, permanent basis (37.5hrs Shift work, including weekends, bank holidays and nights on a rota basis, will be required) and in return you will receive a competitive salary depending on qualifications

About HAIL: On July 10th, 2019, HAIL formally came together with Vibrance to provide an enhanced range of services across London and the South East. HAIL has a long and proud history of providing care and support to people with learning and physical disabilities, mental health issues and autism. Together with Vibrance, we now support more than 4,000 people across the region. Through a wide range of services and by working closely with each individual, we give people the independence they need to allow them to have the lifestyle they choose.

About our Support Worker role: Based in Haringey, London, Kitchener Road/Whittington Road is a supported living accommodation for up to 3 female service users with staff on duty 24 hours a day. Staff are involved in supporting the service users in all aspects of their daily life, providing them with physical and emotional support in all areas of day-to-day life, both inside and outside the home e.g. personal care, mealtimes, recreation and leisure, attending medical appointments etc.

Responsibilities as our Support Worker:
- Work as part of a staff team to support customers in all aspects of their everyday living, providing practical, physical and emotional support
- Work to promote the rights of people with a learning disability and/or autism, providing a high quality service incorporating the values and service principles of the organisation, working within HAIL’s policies and procedures
 - Work to promote standards of support and care as defined within the Care Standards Act, Housing Related Support, Autism Accreditation and Valuing People

What we’re looking for in our Support Worker:
- Numerate and literate
- Basic IT skills
- Experience of supporting a person with a learning disability and/or autism in a residential or supported housing setting
- Experience of supporting people with learning disabilities and/or autism in the community
- Can work positively in a multi-cultural community - An understanding and commitment to the rights of people with disabilities
- Able to carry out personal care
- Can communicate with everyone including people who may not use language
-  Able to work varying shift times which may include sleep-ins, bank holiday and anti-social hours
- Ability to listen and observe, and support emotional needs of a person with a learning disability and/or autism
- Ability to work within a team, act as a key-worker to customers and to work consistently, to agreed methods
- Domestic and household skills
- Ability to adapt to a few challenging environments
